Water meters ‘a flaw in system’

FAILURE to install and maintain water meters is a bigger issue in the Barwon-Darling region than anywhere else in NSW, according to the state’s latest compliance priorities.

Compliance efforts between this month and August will focus on an environmental flow in the system which is protected by an embargo as it moves through the Barwon-Darling.

“A three monthly time-frame period has been chosen to address the urgency for action on immediate and known compliance matters and to ensure environmental flows are successful,” the new Natural Resources Access Regulator’s priority statement said.
