Dave Meyer dished off nine assists for the Heat in their loss to Craigieburn at the Hothouse on Saturday night.

MILDURA Heat Division 2 men’s coach David Curran says it is his fault Craigieburn were able to get off the leash from three-point range in Saturday’s 88-79 Big V Basketball loss at the Hothouse.

Despite a late charge from the Heat, who drew level after trailing by more than 10 points in the second half, the top-of-the-ladder Eagles were able to hold firm.

“I’ll take responsibility for this, I wasn’t prepared enough for the boys,” Curran said.

“We let them shoot far too many threes, they had 30 three-point shots. They are just good shooters, but we’ve got to work harder.

“I’ve got to change the structure a bit when we play them next time.”
