FEDERAL Rural Health Minister, Senator Bridget McKenzie had a look at what the region has to offer following this month’s Federal Budget announcement of more than $95 million for the Murray-Darling Medical Schools Network.

Yesterday she joined Member for Mallee Andrew Broad and Member for Mildura Peter Crisp to visit Monash University in Mildura, saying the investment would attract more doctors to train and live in Sunraysia.

“The announcement we made in the budget for additional training is so important,” she said.

“(The funding) will provide end-to-end training, (doctors) will be able to go from start to finish in the regional areas.

“It means they will be based here and only have to do brief training in the city.”
