A SEARCH is under way for the owners of a mystery domestic cat found in the isolated Mungo National Park.

Nobody seems to know how the cat, temporarily nicknamed Albert after former Mungo pastoralist Albert Barnes, first arrived at Mungo Lodge or how he came to be missing.

He is far from the big cats of bush lore.

When tour operator Larry Cowley flew the cat back to Mildura to stay with him, the friendly feline hopped up alongside him as he sat on the couch.
