BEING glued to your phone may soon be beneficial, as NSW prepares to introduce digital driver’s licences.

Legislation is expected to be introduced in parliament in the next fortnight, enabling a statewide roll-out.

Wentworth, Buronga, Dareton, Coomealla and Gol Gol residents would then have the option of ditching the hardcopy driver’s licence in favour of a digital version accessible by a smartphone or tablet.

The move would allow Sunraysia’s NSW drivers to show their digital licence as proof of identity during roadside police checks or proof of age when entering local pubs and clubs.
