Raise bar to fight violence

AFTER 18 years operating as a pub, it is believed the former Cider Tree building will be repurposed and turned into ­office space for a local domestic ­violence service.

The prominent Deakin ­Avenue building has a long history, operating as Mildura’s post office for more than a century, with the ­earliest post office built on the site in 1890.

The building has undergone many renovations over the years, with much of the current facade established in the early 1920s and internally changed according to need.
