The trend that was previously reserved for the rich, famous and beautiful is making its way into Sunraysia lifestyles in a big way.

One scroll through Instagram and you’re bound to see the bottles of colourful, bright liquid juices that people drink, typically in three or five-day cycles.

Enthusiasts are in pursuit of clear skin, less bloating, improved mental clarity and aiming to give their digestion systems a break from solid foods.

But should they believe the hype?

Sunraysia Community Health Services dietitian Alana Hosken said that “cleansing diets” were typically very strict.
