MERINGUR are prepared to forge ahead in 2018 despite the loss of blue-chip recruit Colin Sylvia (pictured).
The Millewa Football League club’s co-coach Toby Quirk-Meeks said the former Merbein premiership player and Melbourne and Fremantle AFL star had lingering issues with his shoulder that would all but end his season before even playing a game for his new club.
Those shoulder issues stem from an injury Sylvia received on his return to Merbein in 2015.
“His shoulder has got some significant tears and issues which we obviously took on board,” Quirk-Meeks said.
“We pushed training into a lot more contested work to really push the limit of what it was, that’s what I did it for because I’d rather know at training than find out in a game.
