ROBINVALE’S status as the “town with no pub” looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.

After being ravaged by fire in December 2015, the Robinvale Hotel was sold to a group of investors who have not been able to agree on an outcome for the hotel.

My fear is that it will stay the way it is for another 20 years, and that’s not a good outcome, both in terms of safety and also for the tourism of our town - Robinvale ward councilllor John Katis

Swan Hill Rural City councillor John Katis said despite the area being declared “site safe” by council, he had concerns.

“In my opinion, I’m not sure how safe it actually is,” Cr Katis said.

“It looks to me like a gust of wind or some heavy rainfall could send the whole thing crashing down."
