THERE’S no need to travel far from Mildura to spot unique wildlife species.
Sunraysia is home to many unique and rarely seen native animals such as the shy echidna and the quiet inland carpet python.
If curiosity and patience are a must to be successful at finding and viewing local fauna, Parks Victoria community engagement ranger Julia Beechey said preparation was key to make the most of a wildlife viewing excursion.
“The best way to observe our wild animals in their relaxed, natural behaviour is to give them plenty of space and don’t interfere with them or their habitat,” she said.
