Growing abilities and qualifications

THE first batch of participants in the growAbility program, jointly designed by the Christie Centre and SuniTAFE, graduated with a certificate II in horticulture yesterday.

Three Christie Centre participants with intellectual disability completed their 15 unit course and received their nationally recognised diploma, opening doors to further education and employment.

“We were looking for real usable qualifications that our participants could take with the goal of achieving open employment,” disability support worker Ali Goullet said.
