FOR many starting high school is a daunting experience, but Irymple Secondary College has found a solution.
Year 7 students were welcomed with open arms by their peer mentors, including the six school captains and fellow Year 10 students.
Teacher Rebecca McClure said the program aimed to bridge the gap between year levels.
“Previously Year 7s have felt afraid of the Year 10s so that connection makes a big difference to making the school a welcoming place.
