A FAMILY new to Sunraysia is disputing a water bill that claimed it had used more than three million litres – more than enough to fill an Olympic-sized swimming pool – in just three weeks.

The McLean family, formerly of Melbourne, received a $220 bill from Lower Murray Water (LMW) for river

water allocation for the October to December quarter, which showed 3.025 megalitres of water used, despite moving into their new Merbein home early in December.

Steven and Cheryl McLean are now in dispute with Lower Murray Water, and urging the company to “use common sense”, as they will soon reach its yearly allocation of river water.
