Promising start to harvest

THIS year’s sultana crops are “looking very good” and dried fruits growers are expecting a successful year, according to local dried fruit grower Ashley Johnstone.

Dry and warm weather conditions have been favourable to dried fruit growers, despite a slightly early start compared to last year.

“The fruits getting harvested from the tray may not need further drying, which is a bonus,” Mr Johnstone said.
