DARETON police continue to investigate why a woman was lying in the middle of the road when she was fatally hit by a car on Friday night.
The 29-year-old woman died when she was hit by a Toyota Landcruiser about 11.15pm on Friday, about 3km north of Wentworth on Pooncarie Road.

“When he realised what had happened he immediately stopped and rang (Triple Zero),” Sgt Mensforth said.
