THE investigation into the cause of a house fire in Pearl Avenue, Mildura, early this morning has been handed over to police.
It's estimated the blaze, which started about 3.30am, caused about $30,000 worth of damage to the property.
Two trucks from Mildura Fire Brigade were called to the scene to find the occupants evacuated from the house and no one injured.
"Fire crews were on scene very quickly and contained it to a portion of a front room," senior station officer Adam Young said.
It took firefighters about 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
"It damaged the outside of the property, the cladding and spread to probably a couple of metres inside the lounge room."
Fire investigators returned to the scene earlier today.
