Not all buy out of Valentine's Day

WHILE some will make a mad dash to the florist or shops this morning on learning ­today is Valentine’s Day, the more organised types will have selected a thoughtful gift or planned an outing for their partner well ahead.

However it seems the majority of couples are part of an increasing trend to stash their cash and forego Valentine’s Day ­al­together.

New research by finder.com.au, a comparison website, revealed 64 per cent of Australians will not be celebrating this year, mainly due to the cost.

The research revealed 25 per cent of Aust­ralians did not celebrate the day anymore because it was a “rip-off” or too expensive, and a further 18 per cent simply did not ­believe in it.
