Summer of colour

THE Riverfront Gallery is cele­brating summer with a new ­exhibition showcasing the work of about 40 local and regional artists.

The artists, who each Tuesday and Saturday paint in the gallery in public view, let their brushstrokes work on their canvas to create no less than 100 pieces.

“Our summer exhibition doesn’t have a theme, it’s a collection of works where all our thoughts are connected with ­summer,” gallery president Peta Collett said.

“But when I look at this exhib­ition, I see colour, brightness, very diverse styles and brilliant work.
