FOR Mildura resident Cheryl Barnes, receiving the Sir Zelman Cowen Award at Parkinson's Victoria's annual general meeting last Monday was "a thrill."
The award is the organisation's highest honour and is presented to an individual in recognition of their invaluable voluntary contribution to the Parkinson's community.
Parkinson’s Victoria chief executive Emma Collin said Ms Barnes was a worthy recipient of the award.
"Cheryl's work across all aspects of advocacy, community engagement and promotion of Parkinson's has been second to none," Ms Collin said.
