A little kindness goes a long way

For Year 5 and 6 Merbein P-10 college students, “kindness is like a boomerang, it always comes back to you”.

Thanks to this concept and their commitment to making the school a more caring place, the 71 literacy group students and their teachers last week won the Choose Kind challenge in Victoria.

The Australia and New Zealand competition, which encouraged all participants to create and spread kindness in the world, rewarded the students for their effort by offering them a private screening of the recently released movie Wonder, directed by Stephen Chbosky.

Year 5-6 teacher Sue Gardiner said the literacy unit was only made aware of the competition shortly before the closing date.
