Anglers caught over-fishing during Murray-Darling patrols

TWO fines were issued for overfishing during joint patrols of the Murray and Daring rivers by Dareton police and Fisheries officers from Friday and Tuesday.

Dareton police Inspector Stuart Gordon said a number of warnings and infringement notices were issued during the patrols. 

“Common offences include exceeding bag limits, possession of illegal nets and gear, and taking species during prohibited periods or from prohibited areas.
