Aviators count ban cost

A MILDURA aviation company is counting the cost of restrictions that banned aerobatics, gliding and hot air ballooning above the city’s airport.

Ramair Flying Services owner Andrew Mason said the bans, which were scrapped by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority last month, hampered the tourism side of his business and made it more expensive to operate from Mildura.

CASA told Mildura Airport management in a letter that its ban on ballooning and aerobatics within 5 nautical miles was “unauthorised”.
