Reed unlikely for Big Bash League

FORMER Sunraysia fast bowler Jake Reed has all but ruled himself out of the seventh Big Bash League, which starts next month.

Contracted to the Hobart Hurricanes for BBL07, the former Irymple and Nursery Ridge cricketer was taking a softly, softly approach in his recovery from a shoulder reconstruction following an injury playing for Victoria last year and partial knee reconstruction and clean-up earlier this year.

“At this stage it is looking unlikely (I’ll play Big Bash),” 27-year-old Reed said.

“It’s looking like I’ll stay in Melbourne and won’t go down to the Hurricanes.
