An eager beaver

GOL Gol’s Jasmine Simmons will start the 2018 basketball season in the SEABL before heading to the US to take her place at Oregon State University.

The 18-year-old former Mildura Heat star officially signed with Oregon State last week after verbally committing to the Beavers in May and said she would likely get on the plane for summer school in her new US home base in the middle of next year.

But before then the former Canberra-based Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence guard, who moved back home to Sunraysia this year after a back injury and finished her schooling online, will do her best to prepare herself in a basketball sense.
