Airport improves service for patients

PATIENT transfers at Mildura Airport may soon become more efficient and comfortable following the approval of a new transfer station.

For the past eight months, as part of the Northern Mallee Leaders program, Mildura Airport manager of finance and administration Trudy Scott has been dedicating much of her time to developing plans for an Aeromedical Patient Transfer Station (APTS).

“At the moment all transfers are done on the tarmac so there’s no privacy, no shelter from the rain, wind or heat, so it’s about making it more comfortable for patients and the staff who are transferring them,” Ms Scott said.
