MANY of the region’s growers are still on the long road to recovery following last year’s Remembrance Day storm, with their crops still feeling the pinch.
Red Cliffs almond grower Hardeep Singh said it would still be a while before his crop returned to normal, after it sustained extensive hail and wind damage during last year’s storm.
Prior to the freak storm he said he was expecting a record crop.
Mr Singh put his damage bill at more than half a million dollars, with the crop uninsured, however he was able to obtain $25,000 through Federal Government-State natural disaster relief funding which was open to storm affected growers.
