The “hand over day” was the final step of a one-year project undertaken by 15 Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) students as part of their Personal Development course.

VCAL teacher Kathryn Dawe said the project aimed to find practical solutions to a community issue previously identified by the students.

“This year it was the students’ decision to focus on homelessness,” Ms Dawe said.
