A NEW study has revealed reading outcomes for boys improve when they share classrooms with girls.

The study, which was published this week, claimed there was a widening body of research challenging the purported benefits of single-sex schooling.

“Boys’ poorer reading performance really is a widespread, but unfortunately also understudied, problem,” lead author Dr Margriet van Hek said.
