FORMER Mildura West import Ben Waring’s impact on the club has carried on into a new season despite his absence from the club.
The left-arm orthodox bowler, who had the Sunraysia Cricket Association in a spin and helped his side to the minor premiership in 2016-17, played a big role in the recruitment of English import Tom Hope to the club.
Nineteen-year-old all rounder Hope, from Stoke-on-Trent, got to know Waring through the Warwickshire under 19 Cricket Academy and from there the wheels for his move Down Under were set in motion.
“Ben Waring played here last year, he came and trialled a bit for Warwickshire so I sort of got to know him through that,” Hope said.
