THE mother of a man charged over the death of his partner will be examined in a Melbourne court before her son faces a committal hearing in Mildura.
Steven Con Samaras, whose American partner Tamara Turner was dumped dead outside the Mildura Base Hospital in June last year, made a brief appearance in the Mildura Magistrates' Court on Tuesday via video link.
Samaras, who is being held in custody, was arrested in Melbourne's northern suburbs days after 49-year-old Ms Turner's body was left at the Mildura hospital.
Samaras' mother will give evidence at a hearing in the Melbourne Magistrates' Court in February before he is next due to face a committal hearing at Mildura in April.
Several other witnesses will also be called to give evidence at the hearing, which will determine whether Samaras is committed to stand trial over Ms Turner's murder in the Supreme Court.
