MALLEE Cliffs, east of Gol Gol in NSW, will become a globally-recognised scientific hub, according to leading conservationists.
Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) chief executive Atticus Fleming said a project to return endangered native species to a feral-free sanctuary constructed in the Mallee Cliffs National Park was a boon for the region.
“When you think about the most exciting endangered species projects in Australia, even the world, you’re going to talk about Mallee Cliffs,” Mr Fleming said.
“What comes with that is the science that’s building it – this is a hub for conservation but also a hub for science and you’re going to have students and scientists looking at what is going on there and thinking, ‘that is an exciting project’.”
