THE Climate Council’s head of research has warned more extreme weather events will hit Sunraysia in the future due to the impact of climate change. 

With less than a month to go until the anniversary of last November’s freak storm, Dr Martin Rice said climate change would drive warmer conditions conducive for extreme droughts and bushfires across Victoria. 

Although he admitted storm activity was more difficult to predict, he said the region could expect extreme storm events more often in the future.
