Merbein is “dying” and needs to be more caravan-friendly to stay afloat, according to a local resident and caravanner.
Peter Whittle said he would like to see a dump point for caravan septic canisters at Merbein Common to make the town more attractive to travellers passing through.
Mr Whittle said even though caravanners camp free at Merbein Common, they still brought money into the town.
“The last couple of times the wife and I went away we saved over $2500 by not going into caravan parks,” he said.
