Speedway rider Justin Sedgmen still hopes for a call-up for the Speedway grand prix at Etihad Stadium.

MERBEIN’S Justin Sedgmen is waiting to hear whether he will be called up to this month’s Australian FIM Speedway Grand Prix at Etihad Stadium.

With doubt surrounding whether Danish rider Niels-Kristian Iversen and Australian rider Max Fricke would be forced to pull out after crashing at the Torun Speedway grand prix round in Poland at the weekend, first reserve Sedgmen, 25, could be called into the line-up for the October 28 finale of the series.

“Technically I’m in no different situation to what (Australian champion) Sam Masters was last year – he was first reserve and Jason Doyle got injured at Torun last year,” Sedgmen said.
