$500m water pipeline gets green light

A $500 MILLION pipeline supplying Broken Hill with Murray River water will go ahead after the NSW Government yesterday tabled an order for its construction in Parliament.

The document, dated September 27, reveals NSW Water Minister Niall Blair formally ordered the pipeline’s construction two weeks ago.

A business case for the pipeline has not yet been released, prompting the Opposition to slam the move as an “arrogant and sneaky decision”.
