NEW Mildura Lawn Tennis Club president Ali McMeekin says furthering the club’s sterling reputation in the tennis community is her main aim.

McMeekin was elected to the role on Saturday at the club’s annual meeting, taking over from Mark Vorwerk, and was looking forward to overseeing the prestigious club – whose grass courts are often regarded as some of the best in the world outside of Wimbledon.

“Excited is one word I could use, and nervous is also probably a word but mostly excited,” McMeekin said,

“Obviously it’s a big club and it’s got a great reputation and it’s going to be my job to ensure that reputation grows.”
