MILDURA’S Cameron Waters could barely hide his disappointment after a frustrating Bathurst 1000 on Sunday.

Speaking post-race to commentator Greg Rust in a one-on-one interview poster to the Supercars website after he and Prodrive Racing Australia co-driver Richie Stanaway’s 16th-place finish at Mount Panorama, Waters lamented the “one that got away” after having a lead that at one point pushed out beyond 20 seconds.

“It was a pretty hard day, we had so much pace in the car and we got such an awesome lead a few times,” Waters said.

“It was all there but it was just one that got away.”
