THE fate of Aldi’s plans to move into Mildura will likely rest in councillors’ hands after more than seven objections were received by Mildura Council.
The magic number was set to be a deciding factor in the German supermarket giant’s prospects of setting up shop in Mildura after years of hunting for a space to call home.
It follows the discount chain in August telling Sunraysia Daily it would consider pulling the pin on its plans to move into town if it could not secure the Fifteenth Street and Deakin Avenue site it wanted.
Objections to the application last month showed it was mainly traffic concerns from nearby residents that had them objecting to the proposed development.
