Cops target vandalism: Crime figures show spike in malicious property damage in Wentworth LGA

BARRIER Local Area Command (LAC) Superintendent Paul Smith says police will work with the Wentworth community to tackle a surge in malicious property damage in the region. 

There were 102 recorded incidents of malicious damage to property in the Wentworth local government area (LGA) over 12 months to June, 2017, according to the NSW Recorded Crime Statistics quarterly update. 

This represented a 52 per cent spike in incidents when compared to the same period to June 2016. 

In recent months, both residents and local police have been vocal about vandalism issues in Wentworth.
