MILDURA Council’s commitment to combating the region’s high rate of domestic violence will go interstate this weekend as staff join in Adelaide’s City-Bay Fun Run to raise money and awareness for White Ribbon Australia.

Council staff member and White Ribbon supporter Jason Kane came up with the idea two months ago, with the high-profile event making the perfect platform to continue to spread the message about White Ribbon to a large audience.

Since starting fundraising efforts, the group has raised almost $3500 mainly through the support of the community.

“My initial goal was $2500 so we’ve had to keep moving the goal post,” Mr Kane said.
