‘It’s time to step up’

THIS month marks national Childhood Cancer Awareness month.

But for those who have suffered through it or watched on as their child battled the disease, such as Eva Wheatley’s mum, Sharleigh Stevenson, they say it is clear Australia needs to step up and invest more money into research.

Ms Stevenson, who founded the charity Braver, Stronger, Smarter Incorporated, said it was a stark contrast between the level of commitment in finding a cure in Australia, compared to that of the US, and it all came down to money.
