THE stars shone brilliantly bright at the Hothouse for the Mildura Heat on Saturday night against the Chelsea Gulls, but it was their satellites who ultimately stole the show.

In a statistician’s dream game, hometown hero Vanessa Power racked up 35 points and leading partner-in-crime Siobhan Beslow complemented her with a massive 18 boards and a tidy 14 points in the team’s 84-75 victory in game one of the best-of-three Big V Division 1 semi-final series.

However, their combined effort of 49 points and 26 rebounds was matched by Chelsea’s own “big two” of Malika Jackson (38 points, 15 rebounds) and Billie Lucas (19, 10).
