Meringur bound into finals in sparkling form

MERINGUR’S finals drought is over after the Kangaroos sealed their place with a 92-point win over Bambill.

The Kangaroos started well but were held to four goals in the opening term, leading by 23 at the change of ends.

Toby Quirk-Meeks landed two early goals, including a long-range effort from 50m.

Bambill’s Jayme Smith kicked a good goal, while Phillip Wright was working hard through the centre.

Werrimull v Cardross

WERRIMULL booked their finals place while ending the season of Cardross during a sensational draw.

Both clubs went into the match knowing a win would lock in their finals spot and a loss would mean season over.

But with a draw, it was up to percentage to decide who would advance.

Nangiloc v Gol Gol

NANGILOC made a statement on the eve of finals, defeating Gol Gol for the second time this season.

The home side led at every change, recording a 29-point win.

It was a strong first quarter by the Demons, with their midfield on top and Ned Duthie kicking four goals.

Jhy Berry was playing well, Troy Francis and Josh Berry were strong in defence and Jack Wilson impressed with his delivery.
