THE Department of Health and Human Services has issued an alert for people aged 15 to 19 in the Mildura area to get access to a free vaccine against a strain of meningococcal disease.
The department this week alerted SuniTAFE, which later sent the notice to parents, caregivers and students.
The emails said deadly strains of meningococcal disease, not previously common in Victoria, were on the rise and 15 to 19-year-olds were at risk.
They referred people to betterhealth.vic.gov.au/menvax for more information.
