Despite the fruit being slow to ripen this season, Sunraysia citrus grower John Keam says he still considers it his best ever, especially for his cara cara variety.

Mr Keam has been in the horticultural industry for 50 years and grows about ten varieties of navel oranges on his property at Ellerslie in New South Wales.

He is considered one of the biggest citrus growers in the southern part of the Murray- Darling Basin.

Mr Keam said there was a big demand for his oranges, especially in Asia.
