WENTWORTH Shire Council has received $303,000 to upgrade its bitumen sealing and customer service delivery practices in an innovation grant win.

The funds will go towards testing the recommended life span of bitumen seals on the shire’s roads and developing and implementing a new customer service delivery model across Wentworth communities.

The council’s director of finance and policy Simon Rule has long recommended the council chase opportunities to innovate and last year introduced new technology to remotely monitor and automate filtered and raw water systems and its sewer reticulation system.
