BACKPACKERS in Sunraysia who are exploited fear they could lose their visa if they report their experiences, according to the Australian Workers Union.

Sunraysia Daily yesterday revealed some backpackers are being forced to work up to 16 hours a day in a citrus packing shed in north west Victoria.

The Australian Workers Union’s north west Victoria organiser Rob Saunders said he had also received anecdotal evidence of such practices happening in the region.
