BACK in Mildura to visit her “second family”, Germany’s Luise Koehler’s story of returning to the land Down Under is one that is increasingly becoming a trend for cultural exchange students.

The 19-year-old first stayed with the Williams family three years ago, at the age of 16, for 10 months as part of an international study program through Southern Cross Cultural Exchange and has now returned for a four-week holiday.

“I’ve got more free time now and my host parents are busier now because they have a new shop,” she said.
