Police step up driver drug testing

MILDURA police have warned drivers they will be ramping up drug testing operations after a record-high drug detection figure last month. 

Mildura highway patrol Sergeant Mark McDonald said 24 positive roadside drug readings were recorded on Mildura roads in July. 

“The last month was our highest detection rate we’ve had since we began testing for illicit drugs,” he said.
