Training inquiry helps all parties

THE Australian Industry and Skills Committee acknowledges the findings of the Australian Skills Quality Authority’s (ASQA) investigation into unduly short training.

This investigation reflects concerns about short training courses that the AISC shares with industry – and we welcome any work in this area that leads to improved outcomes for students and employers.

Through industry reference committees, businesses play a key role in translating their skills needs into training packages and ensuring our training system meets the needs of both industry and employees.

ASQA’s findings provide valuable input into our consideration of the issues around competencies, course duration, and ultimately course quality.
